Terminology

ENT, otolaryngologist, otorhinolaryngologist — what is the difference?

None, in practice. They are different names for the same specialty. The sub-specialist titles below describe an area of focus, not a separate qualification.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan holds DNB (ENT) and MNAMS and works across all of these areas.

Not sure which applies to you?

That is completely normal — ENT symptoms overlap a great deal, and ear pain can come from the throat while a blocked ear can come from the nose. Call 087458 59105 and describe what you are experiencing. Working out the right starting point is part of the consultation.

Common questions

Questions patients ask us

Which ENT problems can be treated without surgery?

Most of them. Allergic rhinitis, the majority of sinusitis, ear infections, impacted wax, BPPV vertigo, laryngopharyngeal reflux and most cases of hearing loss are managed medically or with in-clinic procedures. Surgery is reserved for structural problems, disease that has not responded to proper medical treatment, and tumours.

Do I need a referral to see an ENT specialist?

No referral is required. You can call 087458 59105 or send a WhatsApp message to book directly. Bring any previous reports, scans, audiograms or a list of your current medicines if you have them.

Where is surgery performed?

Consultations, endoscopy, allergy testing, audiology and minor day-care procedures are done at the Sector 82A clinic. Major surgery is performed at Fortis Hospital, Manesar, where Dr. Vardhan holds an association.

Can children be treated at the clinic?

Yes. Paediatric ENT is a significant part of the practice — recurrent tonsillitis, enlarged adenoids, glue ear, childhood snoring, allergy and foreign bodies in the ear or nose are all commonly seen.
